The minutes of last year's AGM, held on March 12, 2024, were read and confirmed. Regarding the two actions:
Treasurer Joe White provided a report based primarily on the statements from the club's bank account. We operated at a small loss of £14.09 over the year, with a closing balance of £2,099.81. There were a few late payments from some players and opposition clubs, but a few that are still being chased - this is an unwelcome development from previous years, so something we'll need to watch. An administrative error meant that we charged the 2023 match fees (£6.00 for adults and £3.00 for juniors) rather than the increased 2024 match fees (£7.00 for adults and £3.50 for juniors), which meant we lost £335.50; however this was offset by playing several away games where we weren't charged a ground hire fee. It will be important to increase these fees for 2025, in part because our insurance fees have increased.
Dave Norman reported (in absentia) that Fitzwilliam College's ground hire fee will remain at £80.00 (including VAT) for evening games. Individual match fees will hence remain at £7.00 for adults and £3.50 for juniors, and the charge to visiting teams will simiarly remain at £50.00. (including a match ball).
The 2024 season proceeded pretty smoothly, with organisation now coordinated almost entirely via the club WhatsApp group - far more streamlined than e-mail. We played 28 matches (including two internal games); of the completed external matches we won 14 and lost 11, putting us above 50% for the first time since 2018. There were also 9 cancellations.
This year's fixture list is largely complete, with the internal Remnants vs. Remnants game to be on Wednesday, June 25.
Tom Serby had no issues to report, but needs to check up on any new requirements (as compared to guidance).
