Remnants vs. The Cavendish Laboratory

May 9, 2007
Fitzwilliam College

Match cancelled.

For most of the day the weather -- dark, grey, showers -- was pretty much the same as yesterday, which ended up with one of the more comprehensive and enjoyable Remnants victories on record. But whereas the sky lightened at 5pm yesterday, it opened up at 5pm today, late enough to lure plenty of players to the ground, but providing more than enough rain to see the match against The Cavendish Lab abandoned without a ball being bowled. Still, it wasn't all doom and gloom for those of us left cowering in the pavilion -- we did have the not insignificant compensation of watching an enthusiastic group of young women (and an impressively hairy young man) doing pelvic floor exercises on the wet grass in front of us . . .

. . . a fact which was noted not 24 hours later by ex-Remnant Phil Watson (probably from running a Google search for "pelvic floor exercises", knowing him), who grumbled that ``surely this is the time for photos instead of the boring old cricketers ones usually posted''.

The local police have been notified.
