This is getting ridiculous. Three out of eight fixtures cancelled due to rain after the driest spring months in many a year. Why did the rain and the cricket season start simultaneously? Why does god hate northern hemisphere cricketers?
Think I'm being fatalistic? Think again -- below are the daily rainfall statistics for February, March, April and (the start of) May 2003. Suffice to say that our cricket season started on April 29 -- in other words there was rain on just six of the ninety-odd days preceding the season but on nine of the twenty three days since the season began. I can't be bothered doing a proper statistical analysis of these data, but it certainly doesn't seem at all reasonable to me.
