Remnants vs. The Globe
Tuesday, August 20, 2002
Fitzwilliam College
Remnants (106/3; 12 eight-ball overs)
lost to
The Globe (107/5; 10.3 eight-ball overs)
by 5 wickets.
Not having played in this game I don't know what happened other than
the following:
-
We batted like Wallys [except for Ev Fox (31), Phil Marshall
(twenty-something) and Nick Clarke (also twenty-something)];
-
We bowled like Wallys [except for Robin Woolley (two great wickets,
including one in which the batsman didn't believe he was bowled, rather
like Mike Gatting's disbelieving response to ``that ball'' from Shane
Warne in 1993); Russell Woolf (who got his bunny, Mick Taylor, again)
and Andy Owen (0/37 off 2 overs, the poor figures being
due to poor fielding, apparently)];
-
We fielded like Wallys (except again for Robin Woolley who snared a
run out and almost took what would have been the catch of the season);
So, there you have it -- another loss in what's turning out to be
one of the least successful Remnants seasons on record . . .
