Education Nomads vs. Remnants

Wednesday, July 17, 2002
Leys School

Remnants (142/0; 20 six-ball overs)
lost to
Education Nomads (6/144; 19.2 six-ball overs)
by 4 wickets.

Don't really know much about this game except that the greedy sods Nick Clarke (76*) and Phil Watson (61*) both batted through our 20 overs to post an impressive total . . . and that, despite Rich Savage (1/27), Andy Owen (1/30) and Phil Marshall (1/21) all getting wickets and Les Collings taking an amazing one-handed gully catch, the Nomads scored freely enough that a ``streaky'' four in the last over was enough to win the game for them. And this was despite Phil Watson complementing his batting with bowling figures of 2/23 to complete the season's best all-round performance.
