Remnants batted first and struggled, with only Andy Brown (31*) and Will Gotley (35) making more than 6, although our eventual 97/8 was probably competitive. In the end, it actually proved to enough to inflict a low-scoring thrashing on The Computer Lab, as we kept them to just 57/9 from their 20 overs. James Tappin 4/19 had the best bowling figures by the conventional measure of such things, but the performance of the day was clearly by Martin Stirland, who finished with insane figures of 4 overs, 4 maidens, 2/0, unbeatable as the most economical full-length spell in Remnants history. Unfortunately for us this turned out to be his final game for the club - a clear loss given that he took 3/5 the only other time he played (meaning that Martin's career Remnants bowling figures remain an amazing 9 overs, 7 maidens, 5/5).
